The Importance of Hope in Buddhism

Buddhism as a non-theistic tradition is kind of saying there is no hand to hold. There's nowhere to hide from the rawness that is life. And we put our sense of hope in this notion that at the end of the day, when all else fails, there's someone there who's going to hold our hand and make things better.
