Niger: A Security Partner for the United States in West Africa
Niger is an important security partner for the United States in West Africa and has been seen as a lynch pin for the spread of democracy. The attempted coup of Niger's president who oversaw the country's first peaceful transfer of power since gaining independence from France is now raising concerns about the broader security situation in the region. Joining me now is our Pentagon correspondent Courtney Kubi who has been in Niger and and Vemba Paisou Deizolele.
