The companies have hooked us into a collective action problem. The only reason we ever let our kids on is because everyone else is on. And the platforms have engineered it that way. Facebook says they're going to do all kinds of safety reforms, what they will never do is kick off the 11 and 12 year olds Because they're desperate to get them before they go to TikTok. That's insane. None of us want our kids on Instagram in sixth grade when they're 11. They just lie about their age.
