What Are We Talking About Really in Terms of Number and Scale?

The National Park Service estimates there are half a million 500,000 individual sets of Native American remains in US museums. There are also the remains of African Americans and indigenous people from elsewhere around the world who were brought to these same places. The Smithsonian had 35,000 sets of human remains at its peak. So, yeah, when I say vast, I truly mean that in terms of number and size and scale.
