Both zen and stoicism meet pain, suffering and adversity with equanimity. Both see the time as now and acknowledge the present as being most important to take action or to simply live in. Zen is very interested where logic fails and questions don't always have clear answers. There is a limitation in only using logic to problem solve because life is not 100 % logical, just like it's not 100% emotional.
