Design Thinking - What Does It Lack?

The idea of gaining foundational understanding about your end users is really important and hasn't always been a part necessarily of things like product design so understanding the context okay let's say I worked at Microsoft a million years ago. Back then just the idea of doing these studies where we would just we would go into somebody's house and ask them tons of questions about that how they manage their personal finances was good for basically understanding the context in which our product is going to sit.
