The Gnostics Challenge Mythology
The God of the Old Testament is evil, vindictive and shows favoritism for no moral reason. But in the New Testament he's seen as a God of Light and Love who wants us to reunite with him or her. The Gnostics don't put a huge emphasis on the person of Jesus and his crucifixion. Instead they say Jesus will bring us the way of knowing Gnosis of Agape so that we can free ourselves from this.
