The Role of Ultrasound in Diagnosing Testicular Torsion
Tests for torsion using Doppler ultrasound ranges anywhere between 86 to 98%. The sensitivity and specificity are not as high when we do this at the bedside. When it comes to RED evaluation, testicular ultrasound with Doppler flow is the first line imaging modality. If you're concerned on your assessment, speak with the urologist. Don't wait for the ultrasound.
