A large portion of black people in the UK are relatively recent immigrants or with descendants of relatively recent immigrants. In terms of educational outcomes, for example, black African students do outperform white British students as of today. And I think we also need to be mindful of those differences as well, because even though anti-racism needs to take into account racial and ethnic differences, I think that to entirely define an individual simply in terms of the race or the ethnicity denigrates the humanity of that individual.
