I looked at the simple view of reading, which included decoding and language comprehension. I wish I'd chosen word recognition because it gives me more room to talk about the subject. There are parts there that fit in one or the other - for example, vocabulary fits in language comprehension. The last thing to note as well, thinking about the simple model of reading, I didn't talk about why that was a way of thinking about reading that I think is valuable.
