We already use chemicals to increase and augment certain brain functions. We're trying to get bits per second out of the brain, right? Not very helpful if you're an athlete trying to augment your performance. There's every possible kind of non-invasive way to do this is being exploredright now. But you're probably not going to see that much augmentation in the near future.
