The Spokesman for the Moon Missions

The Marshall Space Flight Center has achieved an end-level opportunity in successfully meeting the problems which have confronted us now a bid to place a man on the moon. This is the social problem dealing with men's relationship with men, which while not new has come into sharp focus in recent years. Equal employment opportunity in the federal government is the cornerstone of our federal merit system. It can be traced back almost 80 years to the civil service act itself. After the issuance of several orders barring this it was not until 1961 that we were able to achieve what has become a national objective. We are confronted today with a challenge which has all the urgency and importance of our space exploration program.
