The person credited with introducing zero to europe was fibbon archie. He wrote about the hindu arabic numeral system in his 12 o two book, liber abachi. It took quite a while for the concept of zero to catch on in europe. For zero as a concept that was deftly something that was heavily contested by lots of philosophers. And if you think about it, zero breaks a lot of rules. Even dividing by zero is illegal math. So there are many reasons too protest zero.
