The Politics of Breaking Promises
The challenge for the two sides becomes, which ones can break promises to their people. A it could be reforming trade unions or instituting policies that bring about unemployment. All o f these forms of new thinking, as sow, new thinking is term, usually that comes out of the soviet. And my contention in the book is that this new thinking is adopted in east and west to meet this challenge of breaking promises.
