The Death of a Deathless Person

A bronze pin was often pushed under a toe nail to test for signs of life. When none were discovered, the patient was added to the growing pile of deceased and placed into a mass grave. If these physicians somehow got it wrong and sent someone to the grave without being completely certain something worse was likely to happen, they might bury someone they thought was dead when they really weren't. And then that person might do a very natural thing, they whelnd wake up.
