John Paul II was really good at conveying with his being access to the field of value, but with his words, being very cautious and very open in a way that a lot of people aren't. I think one of the things we need to do is tease apart access from absolute statements that historically have been used to try to denote the field ofvalue. And you can actually appropriately understand all of this as a commentary to the experience of Judah,. The story in which Judah is held in the arms of his mother and experiences non-instrumental love is actually in some sense a proto attachment theory story for several thousand years ago.
