No culture is egalitarian when it comes to knowledge and that's really important. Cultures are egalitarian in terms of material stuff - they share everything, nobody's wealthy of any other. The stories all said the knowledge is integrated. So a story about an animal will also have ethical stories and information about the place. They had lots of moral and ethical stuff. It wasn't recognised. And they were removed from their knowledge and tried to be converted to the religions of the invaders. But in Aboriginal culture that should have been shared.
