Is This a Reversal Strategy in the Old Testament?

Psalm 79 three is designed to inform readers that the judgment here is about those who take the mark of the beast. They are going to, ironically, have the same thing happened to them that way back in the old testament,. babylon did to god's people in psalm 79. So now it's going to happen to them. Things are going to come full circle. And this is the escatological day of the lord. This is all leading up to chapters 17 and 18 where the beast himself will be destroyed.
