I think everything that I've written changes me or changes the writer in some way. It's not always entirely clear what that way is. But I do think that Seth is so blind. He cannot see himself at all. There's all these moments in the novel where we learn who Seth is largely through the characters around him. If we just, the book is in first person, if we were to just take Seth's word for everything, we would have a very different idea of who he is.
