Book Review - Harrowing
The author's language suits the story so incredibly well. She has made people who have no experience of being a victim empathize in such a great manner that you feel it yourself. We know that some readers hear beautiful language, and the you mention that's code for boring, but it sounds like a good description. The more you try to bring yourself out of the situation, ou as the experiencer as well as the reader, it's like quicksand the more you get sucked into the situation. And that's exactly how you would feel being a victim. Now we know how hawit feels when something feels like it's sucking you in and you can't get out.
