The Importance of Punctuating Desire Expressions

The anilizan according to Fink and in this tradition is rushing away from Jewish songs as though it's off limits illegal. Experiences of Jewish songs that are not rushed away from, but instead have a special place. That's just for them. They guard against any experience of Jewish song that is not at the level of transgression. And I think that's important here. Desire may be a defense against anxiety as we learn in seminar 10. But both desire and anxiety guard against the kind of satisfaction that the drive affords.
