Emil Carcabral was considered one of the most important thought leaders of Africa. Maridandrade introduced him to Pan-Africanism as a biographer. The continent could not identify themselves with more straight, jacket, nationalist ideas that some of the leaders had at the time. And so they were more interested in the broader continental size as their identifier.
