How to Live a Life of Consciousness
Torcelanki is a fantastic writer who wrote a book about materials I think it's called why materials matter. In this essay she writes about how disconnected we are in our consumer driven often urban present. When we live a life of greater self-awareness we tend to consume less, when we do consume we do some more mindfully and with an understanding of the impact beyond ourselves. She talks about just like going on a train and looking out and knowing that you're a small part of something bigger.
