What We Know About John Brown's Early Life
John Brown wrote a note to the son of one of the men who financed his crusade against slavery. In that note, he described his childhood in third person because he's a weirdo. He was tempted by three large brass pins belonging to a girl who lived in the family and stole them. After having a full day to think of the wrong received from her a thorough whipping. It sounds creepy when you sum it up that way.
