How Does Your IPFS Node Work?

IPFS is a public network of computers, several hundred thousand I think at this point. It works like traditional web hosting but the only person hosting the data is you. If you want your data that's still available on the network, you need to ensure that it does so using IPFS pinning. This really, I hope demystify some of the magic that people think about IPFS.
