The Governor of the Reserve Bank appeared before a Senate estimates committee last week. Philip Lowe has already had to apologise for his forecast that interest rates wouldn't rise until 2024. He now acknowledges that people may have taken his prediction as an assurance and saddled themselves with more debt than they thought.
