How to Make Money From a Tech Company

In a non-tech company, you as a developer are working on some tech product. You're not making money on that product directly. That product is being used internally by the teams of the company to get their jobs done and it's actually their jobs that are creating value for customers. If you took all the tech away, that business could still fundamentally do what it set out to do.
