A permanent battle I've had with any of my editors who are lovely and amazing and wonderful is about making references to things that people may not have heard of. Just if there are so many all books educated me by context you know I didn't know what anything was but the books were my internet. It's those little references to it's still things I could sort of figure out and sometimes get hilariously wrong. There's an amazing thing in THY it's the once and future king which is a book about and wait what's he called King Arthur and you know King Arthur? You're grasping little fragments of it and that feels to me like the right approach when writing, doesn't matter
