Gun culture in Canada is tends to be rural and Western. There's just a strong urban rule type split situation. The rise in gang in gun violence that people have been talking about happening in the past half decade has really if you look at the statistics has been driven by gang and drug related crime in big cities. These folks are not licensed gun owners, nor are they diverting most of their firearms from the legal market. They're easy to smuggle. You can see all sides in this debate, really like the using the rhetoric of evidence based policy. It's important to put on our critical thinking caps when we hear that term.
