Today, James sits down with legendary humorist Dave Barry to explore the absurdity of Florida, his prolific career as a writer, and his creative process.

With over 50 fiction and nonfiction books to his name, including his latest release Swamp Story, Dave is a master storyteller and has been entertaining readers with his sharp wit and hilarious observations for decades.

James and Dave discuss the ups and downs of the newspaper industry and how Dave has adapted to the changing times. They also touch upon Dave's experience with "Dave's World", a sitcom loosely based on his life as a humor columnist. Dave shares candidly about how the show strayed further and further away from his actual life as the series progressed.

Later on. the conversation turns to the increasing role of generative AI in the newspaper business and how it might affect sports writers in particular, such as Dave's wife - a newspaper sports reporter.
