The Psychoanalysis of False Consciousness
Harrison: I think it's a good thing to get a historical diagnostic. It also helps explain why the sort of central normative category ceases to be exploitation and becomes repression. And that's where the psychoanalysis is really important too, because instead of like in Harrison civilization, far from talking about exploitation and in one-dimensional man too, he's going after the feeling of satisfaction that people have. He calls it like mutilated satisfaction and mutilated pleasure.
