Kishita has an opportunity to consolidate himself within the party and figure out which pieces of Abe's legacy he maybe wants to actively try to pursue or in which ones he doesn't. I think it'll be interesting to watch how that factionalization shakes out as sort of the party moves into the future without Abe. But broadly, I think it's anticipating a future that would be more confrontational with China, even as there were brief cooperative rapprochement with Beijing.
