The Importance of Being a Patient in a Coma
When some one is deeply sedated in a coma, it does affect how they are cared for. I don't get to look at them, talk to them, think of who they are, ask them questions. It's really a travesty in the way that we care for these icu patients That i myself did not even realize for the first 15 years as an intensivist. What a challenge it must been during the pandemic when family members and friends could not even come into the hospital.
