Is the Milky Way Coming Out of Monks' Mound?
There's a pathway that they call the rattlesnake causeway. It goes right past a mound called mound 72, which has got like 200 sets of remains and none were from people who died of natural causes. As you're walking towards monks' mound on the summer solstice, it looks like the Milky Way is coming out of monks' mound. And so his theory is that that represented the pathway that the souls of the dead would take to the netherworld.
