Quantum Field Theory and General Relativity
All attempts so far to unify gravity and quantum mechanics have failed mathematically. Is it just that you just haven't been able to make it work in the mathematical way? Or is there something fundamental about how they view the universe that is just totally incompatible? We'll talk about exactly what that is in a minute. Quantum field theory is very successful because basically gravity is irrelevant. General relativity doesn't allow for any uncertainty in the position of your particles.
