Lisa's Multi-Phased Paintings

The first time I saw Lisa's work was in the expression at Camden Art Centre that Doree L'Ou curated. The paintings are so multi-layered, there's so much to them. Going back to see the Stephen Freeman expression today, it's like going back into a room of old friends. She talks about the mood of her work as being feminine rather than specifically female. Her paintings kind of refuse to be categorised. They have this sense of feeling like kind of history painting.
