China's Tolerance for Internationalization of Rheumimbi

I think my understanding was that there was a reluctance to go down that path of encouraging internationalization. You may get an appreciation of the Rheumimbi over time, which was something they were keen to avoid. It's a little hard to judge from the outside, but verbally they remain committed to renminable internationalization and they are taking select steps to promote it. But I think they worry about the compatibility of party control of the economy and financial system on the one hand and prerequisites for currency internationalization on the other.
