How Did Game Design Lead to What You're Doing Today?

As a kid I used to copy code out of magazines and built this blocky, donkey con game with like 16K of RAM. It was really fun, perhaps one of the most fun jobs I've ever had. But it wasn't a direct step on the path to becoming a founder. So once I'd done my stint as a game designer, I then went back to what it was I already knew I was going to do - start increasingly bigger and better companies.
