In Colorado, 1% property tax every month on your mortgage. If the value goes up to $400,000, don't have to get the police reappraised or something. In California, no, as long as you don't sell the place, it stays at the... Well, we've seen how bad it gets there. The people who own the U-Store pay almost nothing in property taxes because they're a bunch of cheap fucking warehouses. That land is absolutely being wasted down there.
