The Beginning of a New Chapter
There are four burials in this chapter. This is communicating, I think, that those gods are actually dead and can't even keep themselves from being hidden in the earth under a tree. So it seems that all these burials point to the end of one chapter,. let's say, of Jacob's life and the opening of a new chapter which will segue into the lives of his sons.
