The End of the Roman Empire

The history of rome will be ending with the exile of romulus augustilus, last emperor of the western roman empire. The end of imperial dynasties, at least in the west. This designation is, of course, arbitrary and forced. In many ways, the roman empire died when maximinus thrax overthrew alexander saverus. It would not die until the turks blasted a hole in the side of the theodosian walls in 14 53. But these two are all artificially imposed divisions, invented by historians to help keep the past manageable.
