The Importance of UX in the Digital Age

The perfect UX experience is going to be out of reach for most organizations because they will have a finite amount of money and the finite amount of resources, what they need to achieve business goals. Very few projects have an unlimited budget. I think there's a divide there between UXers who understand that concept and those who still argue again and again that it doesn't work for the user. It's not going to be a successful product. That made me think about can incumbent organizations so so established pre-digital organizations, can they make the transition or are they going to be forever beaten by digital startups?
