Is There a Drug of Abuse in Poe?
Alcohol was his drug of choice. He used opium, probably enough to know what it could do to you. It's been disputed that he was truly an addict. The last we ever heard from Poe was when he died on October 7, 1849. Someone captured him, kidnapped him basically, took him around to cheat the vote.
