On the right, you also have a lot of people who seem to want to look at the relations between men and women in the same way that the left wants to look at this question. It is a bit different as well so it feels to me that, you know, everyone's kind of slipping into this strange consent legalistic frame that has been renegotiated. I think we're assuming that sex has no intrinsic significance beyond that which is given to it by consent. We punish sexual crimes more severely than other crimes because we intuitively know that if I slap somebody in the face that's unpleasant, but they'll get over it. If I sexually assault somebody, it might change their lives forever
