What Is a Mother Tree?
The term "mother tree" is used to describe trees that are the most highly connected in a forest. In indigenous cultures, they also referred to mother trees as grandmothers and grandfathers. Mother trees can recognize which seedlings are their own and send more resources to ensure survival of next generation.
