User Research in an Agile or Scrum Environment

How does user research work in an agile or scrum environment? And specifically, how do we fit user research into something like two weeks sprints? That is a big concern that I've heard within the scope of this particular question. My vision for this is to be the go to user research community for our industry. So I don't know. That's a pipe dream. But I'm really excited about that membership and showing up a bunch for my members.
