The Role of Microbes in Plant Coexistence

How can a microbe or a suite of microbes change the interactions between two plant species? I'm guessing there's a hint of resource availability there but context and all the other stuff let's talk about that a little bit more. Plants tend to accumulate species-specific microbiota in their soils that are relatively more harmful to them compared to that of another species. But it is very rooted in this sort of kind of negative, what we call the negative plants where we'll be back.
