The Differences Between Federal and State Jury Pools

Federal jury pools are drawn from the entire district, not just one county. So if you live in Miami, you can be forced as a juror to commute a hundred miles up to Fort Pierce for a multi-week trial. In practice, it would tend to be a jury of people who live relatively close to the courthouse rather than people who live very far away from the courthouse. However, there are cases where you have people commuting substantial distances on juries.
