Socrates seemed disappointed with Protagoras and actually Plato can answer that question in the dialogue so Protagoras is quite evasive he really really resists several times allowing Socrates to ask him questions. At one point he even pretty much admits that he's got a reputation to maintain so the why is this man alive has to maintain his reputation? I think that's what partly reason why skepticism and being open minded is a problem today it's kind of egotism like people don't want to be wrong like and they kind of want to defend the position that they've come to identify with especially in America there seems to be a problem with political tribalism right.
In this episode, I chat with J.W. Bertolotti host of the In Search of Wisdom podcast, and founder of the Perennial Leader Project. Josh was one of the speakers at our Stoicon-x Military event a few years ago. We’re both very active on Substack now, Josh at Perennial Meditations so I thought it would be a great opportunity to reconnect and chat about philosophy as a guide to life.
