It's impossible to understand the revolution really, unless one realized that it was actually a civil war on both sides of the atlantic. And they have a lot of support within within parliament itself, both the modernt and te radical whigs. People forget that britain was altered quite as much as america was. But there had been a great deal of reforms enacted both by louis sixteenth and charles the third of spain. These were very different countries, militarily and navally speaking, from what the british had efaced in the seven years war.
